MURAD INTRODUCES IN-FLIGHT KITS

Murad, in partnership with Cathay Pacific Airlines, is providing amenity kits to all Hong Kong-bound airline passengers traveling in business class to help prevent in-flight skin damage. The kit for women contains Essential-C Night Moisture, Essential-C Eye Cream SPF 15, and Soothing Skin & Lip Therapy. The men's kit contains Hydrating Toner, Cellular Replenishing Serum, and Soothing Skin & Lip Therapy. "We have carefully selected these three products to maximize moisture and off-set jet-lagged skin," says Howard Murad M.D. "The amenity kits were designed to put travelers at ease and offer a dose of luxury in flight." Bioelements regional education managers, education coordinators, vice president of product development, and founder and president Barbara Salomone, recently met at the Bioelements Office of Strategy and Support in Chicago to discuss new initiatives in Bioelements professional treatments and to develop advancements in body treatment products and techniques. "We met from different regions across the United States to share and build ideas," says Bioelements regional education manager Jeff Losito. "These opportunities make Bioelements a uniquely dynamic and progressive company."

Belvedere Celebrates 80 Years

This year, Belvedere USA marks its 80th year in the spa and salon industry. Belvedere manufactures spa and salon equipment including manicure bowls, styling chairs, rubber neck rests, and hair dryers. "Eighty years of production for one company in one place for one industry is a rarity
and one that should be celebrated," says Horst Ackermann, Belvedere managing director. "With a start that incorporated just one small piece of the industry [shampoo bowls], the brand has grown to incorporate everything necessary to operate a spa and salon business."

RIHANNA STEPS OUT IN CHINA GLAZE

R&B singer Rihanna wore China Glaze Coconut Kisses on her fingers and toes at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice awards in Los Angeles. The color is a shimmery jewel-tone shade of purple, which complemented her Gucci dress and gold Gucci peep-toe shoes.

Aveda Fights for Clean Water Rights

Aveda kicked off its 2007 Earth Month campaign on April 11th with the "Dying for a Drink" press event, which was held at the Discovery Center for Riverhouse in New York City. "Being a passionate environmentalist, I really respect the efforts Aveda takes to set an example for environmental leadership and responsibility," says Josh Lucas, actor and co-host of the event. "I am happy to lend my support to their Earth Month campaign and to hopefully motivate people to take action for clean water rights." Aveda's goal was to raise awareness and $1.8 million for clean water organizations through Earth Month projects, including a limited-edition Light the Way candle and a text message campaign in which customers texted the words "clean water" to a number, and the messages were tallied and presented to the United Nations.
