Mississippi Magazine Awards Alluvian Spa Best Spa

The Alluvian (Greenwood, MS) hotel and its spa, Alluvian Spa, were selected as the best hotel and best spa in 2008 by Mississippi Magazine. The spa features six treatment rooms, including one couples' treatment room with a Kohler RiverBath and a fireplace. Paintings and photography by Mississippi Delta artists decorate both the spa and the hotel.

DSA and IMSA Provide Disaster Relief

Because of floods in the Midwest and fires in California, the Day Spa Association (DSA) and International Medical Spa Association (IMSA) have been accepting requests for assistance and offers to help spas recover. According to executive director of DSA and IMSA Hannelore Leavy, "This will be very important so that these spas will be able to reopen and to not only serve their existing customers in these days of badly needed spa services, yet also to help those who have come to the areas to help each community." Various companies, such as New Life Systems/Scrip Company, Telli Industries, Belvedere USA, and The Strawberry Hill Group, have agreed to help those in need.
