  • Into the Blue

Visitors can discover a veritable fountain of youth in Iceland, either while becoming one with nature at the Blue Lagoon, or diving into wellness at its sister property in the world's northernmost capital city.

    Splendor in the Sun

A new ocean-inspired spa marks a fresh chapter for a grand, historic resort on Florida's Gulf Coast.

    Suite Sophistication

With expansive new treatment suites at the heart of this new Napa Valley relaxation retreat, spa-goers with a love for luxury feel right at home.

    Olympic Contender

Often considered the cradle of Western civilization and the birthplace of democracy, Athens, Greece, has certainly earned its share of bragging rights. It's a city that can lay claim to many firsts, such as hosting the first modern-day Olympic games, on account of its long and illustrious history. Despite its longevity as one of the world's oldest cities, it isn't the first place most people think of when it comes to spas. Seeking to change that perception, the Athenaeum InterContinental Athens introduced I-SPA by Algotherm. Opened in January, the spa provides guests with a soothing environment in which to decompress from the stresses of everyday life.

    Trump Card

The ritzy stretch of North Michigan Avenue dubbed "The Magnificent Mile" is the epicenter of all things luxe in the Windy City. Just a stone's throw away from the finest stores and hotels, the eponymous Trump Hotel and Tower Chicago opened its doors in January and is proving to be a perfect fit in the neighborhood. If retail therapy is not the relaxation guests are looking for, then they can kick back at the 23,000-square-foot, 11-treatment-room The Spa at Trump, located on the 14th floor.

    Tour de Spa

Although much is made of the love-hate relationship Americans have with all things French, there is no denying that France often tops the must-visit list of many U.S. travelers. The country never fails to charm with its engaging sidewalk cafés, historic treasures, captivating culture, and sensational sense of style. Known for its numerous beauty brands, France is no stranger to lavish spas and decadent skincare treatments. Thanks to two Four Seasons spas—each embracing its celebrated locale—the country can claim even more bragging rights.

    Romantic Retreat

For spa aficionados who are addicted to love, L'Auberge de Sedona (AZ) provides a sensuous, soul-soothing fix. Romance is the order of the day at this luxurious creekside hideaway nestled amid the stunning red rocks and incomparable vistas of Sedona. The exclusive four-treatment room Spa at L'Auberge de Sedona serves as the property's blissful beating heart. In fact, spa director Leah Gower says the majority of the spa's clients are couples on romantic retreats who want to luxuriate in this "intimate and romantic" haven.

    Hotel California

Located on a small peninsula outside the city of San Diego, the legendary Hotel Del Coronado (Coronado, CA) is a familiar sight to many with its stunning white-washed façade and red-roofed tower. Opened in 1888, it is considered one of the last standing examples of the wooden Victorian seaside resorts that were once so popular. In fact, the Del, as it's affectionately known, was once a playground for the rich, famous, and privileged who flocked there for its numerous amenities and modern technology.

    Heaven on Earth

In 1972, while traveling toward the moon, the crew of NASA's Apollo 17 took one of the most famous photographs of Earth from a distance of about 28,000 miles. The photo, named "The Blue Marble" because the astronauts aboard the shuttle likened its appearance to that of a glass marble, was a depiction of Earth's beauty and fragility amid the expanse of space. Named after that photo, the Blue Marble Spa at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina (San Diego) also takes into account the natural beauty of Earth and its need for immediate care. Opened in September 2007, Blue Marble is Hyatt Pure's first eco-friendly spa, which, according to spa director Kyra Johnson, required much more work than building a facility where care for the environment doesn't play a key role.
