IECSC Shines in Vegas

The International Esthetics, Cosmetics & Spa Conference (IECSC), the second of three IECSC events this year produced by Questex Media and presented by American Spa magazine, was held June 2 through 4 in Las Vegas. A record-breaking number of spa and medical spa industry professionals showed up to attend the more than 260 education sessions and visit more than 650 exhibitor booths. Attendees were also able to stock up on the latest products in aromatherapy, cosmetics, laser equipment, massage, skincare treatments, and more. In addition, the show featured a Medical Spa Pavilion where attendees learned about the growing field and checked out the latest products and equipment available in the medical spa market today.

UC Irvine Extension's Spa & Hospitality Advisory Board recently appointed Nina Curtis as an advisory board member. As founder and president of the Nile Institute in Beverly Hills, CA, Curtis has more than 20 years of experience in the spa industry.

Dermawand has appointed Leslee Ferguson-Moore as educational director for its cosmetology schools, skincare professionals, and physicians in the United States.

Kor Hotel Group recently announced the appointment of Liz Ratcliff to corporate director of spa development. She will be responsible for the oversight and development of all existing Kor spa facilities and of upcoming resorts and hotels. She has more than 10 years of experience in the luxury hotel spa industry and was most recently spa director for the spa at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles.
